Advisory

4pm- Schools CLOSED Monday, Main Roads - Good, Secondary Roads-Fair; Delayed open Twsp offices; Monday commute problems

South Brunswick Office of Emergency Management Director Chief Raymond Hayducka and Township Manager Bernard Hvozdovic have provided the following update on the snow storm's impact on the Township;

Plow crews have made good progress with major roads such as Route 1  which is down to the blacktop. Travel however should be limited as secondary roads and intersections still  have several vehicles getting stuck. Monday morning’s commute is expected to be challenging with increased traffic and slippery roads. The South Brunswick School District has cancelled school for Monday and Township offices will be on a delayed opening of 10:30AM. We are encouraging any businesses that can to have a delayed opening to allow for salt trucks to work in the morning.

South Brunswick Public Works recorded 24 inches of snow in the Township. There 35 crews were able to plow the 193 miles of Township roads  from 2AM Saturday morning to 2PM Sunday.

Monday morning advisory-
Leave extra time as roads are expected to ice up overnight. Intersections and off ramps are piled with snow limiting visibility. Use reduce speeds and take extra caution while driving.
