On June 2, 2010, Pink Heals - Guardians of the Ribbon, a national non profit organization, will bring their message of hope and their pink fire trucks to Napa.

Since 2007, this organization has traveled across the country in their pink fire trucks encouraging communities and particularly men to wear pink in honor of women fighting ALL cancers. The Guardians are firefighters, police officers, military personnel and community leaders who have made the decision to show support and they drive through their destinations with a special message to all who have not fought this battle of cancer. The message is to rally the troops and stand by and honor those that have survived and remember those that lost the fight.

“We believe that anything is possible as long as you are surrounded by good people”, says Dave Graybill, founder of the Guardians of the Ribbon. “That’s why we have set out to carry our message to as many communities as possible”.

This stop in Napa is the first time the tour has come to California. CAL FIRE Captain, Jon Lovie, contacted Dave Graybill earlier this year and invited him to come to Napa in honor of his wife Jennie who was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. Jon’s idea to have a pink fire truck come to Napa as a special gift for Jennie grew to include the entire community.

The pink fire trucks will be on display at Queen of The Valley Hospital on Wednesday, June 2 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and at Home Depot in the South Napa Market Place from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Everyone is invited to stop by and visit with the Guardians of the Ribbon, local firefighters and law enforcement officers. Join us in supporting the movement by wearing pink and signing their pink fire trucks in honor of someone in your life affected by cancer.
