Severe Weather Update

The City of Martinez is currently experiencing heavy rain and minor flooding. The creek water is rising steadily and should crest the Escobar bridge around 3:30PM. According to the weather forecast, there does not appear to be a total break in rain until after 5PM with rain continuing off and on throughout the weekend. High tide is expected at 7:13PM this evening, so there is a potential for additional flooding in the downtown area. Sand bags are located at the police department and sand fill stations can be found at Nancy Boyd Park, Highlands Park, Rankin Park, F. St. past the high school and Ferry St. at Allen St.
Please use extreme caution while driving.
