Update - Police Activity 2900 Block of North Texas Street


The scene has been declared safe by the bomb squad.  Residents have been allowed back into their apartments.  Crime scene investigators are processing the scene now.  A press release will be sent out within the hour with further details.

The Fairfield Police Department is conducting an investigation at an apartment complex in the 2900 Block of North Texas Street.  There is a bomb squad at the scene and nearby residents may hear loud pops.  The loud noises will be a part of the investigation.  Some residents of surrounding apartments are being evacuated for their safety.

This is related to an earlier incident where an incendiary device was released in front of the police department.  More information will be released later in the morning.  This release is being sent to alert residents in the area of the activity.

PIO will be on scene at the church located at North Texas and Marigold.
