Two Arrested for Auto Burglaries in Cordelia

Fairfield Police arrested two people for burglary Saturday morning after it was reported they were breaking into cars in the Cordelia area.  Officers received a call that three cars had been broken into in the parking lot of a restaurant in the 200 Block of Pittman Road.  Upon arrival several witnesses gave descriptions of the suspects and their car.

Officers located the suspect vehicle in the parking lot of a nearby motel.  There was nobody in the car, however, there was a California ID card visible on the center console.  The ID card belonged to 20 year old Leonard Helm, who officers learned was on parole and a guest at the motel.  Officers went to his room where they met Helm and his 17 year old accomplice.

After conducting a parole search, the officers located property taken from the victims' vehicles.  Helm was arrested for Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property, and Violation of Parole.  The 17 year old, a Sacramanto resident, was arrested for Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property, and an outstanding warrant.

This case was quickly solved because of the witnesses, who quickly reported the crime and gave great descriptions of the suspects and their actions.
