Fairfield needs your input on the Allan Witt Park Renovation concepts

The survey seeking community input on the latest concept designs for the renovation of Allan Witt Park is scheduled to close on August 2, 2017. Don't miss your opportunity to tell us what you think of the concepts. Your feedback is critical in re-designing new park amenities that fit our community.

The current design concepts take into consideration feedback from previous community surveys and meetings, as well as various sports organizations that regularly use Allan Witt Park. The ideas add and reconfigure park amenities, improve safety and access to central areas of the park by Police and Fire Department responders as well as the public, enhance the usability of the park for community events, and help inhibit uses of the park that have generated significant community complaints in the past.

About Allan Witt Park and the Renovation Planning Process:

Allan Witt Park is Fairfield’s largest community park. The 47-acre recreational amenity is located on West Texas Street, a major corridor to downtown Fairfield. In 2014, the Heart of Fairfield Program listed Allan Witt Community Park as a core public amenity in need of facility improvements and programming.

Representatives from several city departments, including the Planning, Parks & Recreation, Police, and Public Works Departments formed the Allan Witt Park Renovation Plan Committee to work with the community to develop a clear direction for future planning and development of the park. Priorities include enhancing public safety and usability of the park by families and organized sports.

While we have some concepts, we are not finished and need your help! We'd like to broaden community participation and ask you to help evaluate the ideas. Go to the following webpage (available in English and Spanish) to review the concepts, participate in the "Preference Survey" and tell us your thoughts!
