Lopes Road closure near railroad crossing

Fairfield, California (Monday, July 31, 2017) —The railroad tracks at the crossing of Lopes Road are being replaced to improve the roadway. Lopes Road near the intersections of Cordelia Road and Bridgeport Avenue will close to all traffic from August 1 at 9 a.m. until August 3 at 5 p.m.

Westbound motorists on Cordelia Road will detour onto Pittman Road, to Business Center Drive, to I-80, to Red Top Road, and then to Lopes Road. Southbound motorist will use I-80 to Red Tod Road, and then to Lopes Road.

Avoid this route if possible, but take heed to the detour signs and routes if you are in the area. Allow extra time to travel in this part of town during this construction project. Although not expected, the work period for this railroad project could be extended should construction complications arise.

This work is being undertaken now to avoid road closures after the school year begins.

For questions or more information about this project, please contact railroad contractor Brad Hunsaker at Alert-O-Lite at (559) 801-5668.
