Homicide Investigation in the 300 block of Madison St.

On Sunday, August 20, 2017, at about 9:30 p.m. Fairfield Police Dispatch received multiple calls of a shooting between two vehicles in the area of Madison St. and Broadway St.  Additional callers reported one vehicle had crashed near the intersection of Madison St. and Delaware St. with a possible shooting victim inside.  As officers arrived, they located the vehicle with two occupants, one who was suffering from a gunshot wound.  The victim was transported to a local trauma center where he later died from his injuries.

Detectives from our Investigations Bureau responded to the scene and began their investigation.  Patrol Officers on scene were able to identify the suspects in this case, and a perimeter was quickly established around a home in the 300 block of Taylor St.  Several people were located inside the house who were detained without incident.

Detectives arrested Christopher Vanning Johnson, a 22-year-old Fairfield resident for Homicide, Shooting into a Vehicle and Carrying a Concealed Firearm, and Jesus Gutierrez Jr., a 19-year-old Fairfield resident for Homicide, Shooting into a Vehicle and Carrying a Concealed Firearm.  The passenger in the victim vehicle, Jordan Hendricks an 18-year-old Vacaville resident, was arrested for Possession of a Loaded Firearm in Public.  All were booked into the Solano County Jail.  Four semi-automatic handguns have been recovered during this investigation.  Detectives are currently investigating a connection between this case and a shooting that occurred in the 3500 block of Nelson Road on August 11, 2017.

Booking photos for those arrested are not currently available.  This case is an active investigation, and no further information is available at this time.  The victim's name is not currently being released pending family notification.
