***UPDATE 09/19/2017**** Disturbance call leads to Homicide Investigation

****UPDATE September 19, 2017****

Detectives from our Investigations Bureau worked through the night processing the scene for evidence and interviewing witnesses.  Detectives learned that during a family disturbance Antoinette Clay, a 43 year-old Fairfield resident, used a knife to kill her sister Mary Ellan Douglas, a 41 year-old Fairfield resident.  During the disturbance, Antoinette Clay also tried to kill another family member in the home.  That victim sustained non-life threatening injuries. 

Antoinette Clay was arrested at the scene and booked into the Solano County Jail for Murder, Attempted Murder, and violating the terms of her Probation.

On Monday, September 18, 2017 at about 6:48 p.m., Fairfield Police Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call regarding a disturbance at a residence in the 100 block of Valencia Drive.  Upon arrival officers detained two people at the residence.  Officers located a third person inside the residence who was down on the floor and unresponsive.  

Personal from the Fairfield Fire Department and Medic Ambulance Service were on scene and administered medical treatment to the victim.  Their efforts were unsuccessful, and the adult victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.  

There are no outstanding suspects at this time, and everyone involved are members of the same family.

This case is an active investigation in its early stages, and no further information is available at this time.    Information will be released as it becomes available.
