Bicycle stop leads to firearm possession arrest.

On September 25th, 2017 at approximately 5:10 PM, Officers Serena Smith, Chris Turner and Erik Aagaard attempted to stop a subject riding his bicycle for a traffic violation. Upon attempting the stop, the subject fled on the bike through an open field at Sunset Ave and E. Travis Blvd.

The subject left his bike and fled on foot, back toward E.Travis Blvd, towards vehicle traffic that was stopped at a red light. Officers were able to catch the subject as he was running around these stopped vehicles. A loaded .380 caliber semi-auto handgun was found that the suspect tried to discard under one of the stopped vehicles.

Arrested was Frederick Pearson, a 26 year old Fairfield resident. Frederick was no stranger to possessing weapons and was out on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) for a previous weapons possession charge. He was arrested and booked into Solano County Jail for violating the terms of his PRCS, an ex-felon in possession of a firearm, possessing a loaded firearm in public and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
