Update to 9/27/17 OIS in Emeryville

Preliminary investigation revealed the following Fairfield Police Department personnel fired their department issued firearms during the officer involved shooting incident in Emeryville, CA on September 27, 2017:
Sergeant Brent Pucci, 20 years of law enforcement experience
Sergeant Kelly Rombach, 16 years
Officer John Divine, 13 years
Officer Erik Aagaard, 12 years
Officer Shane Raftery, 4 years
Officer James Sehr, 3 years
Officer Michael Ambrose, 7 years of experience, deployed “Less Lethal” rounds and Chemical Agents.
The investigation into this incident continues. 
On 9/27/17 at around 8:40 AM, Fairfield PD detectives were attempting to apprehend a homicide suspect.  During the event, the suspect failed to yield to the arrest and a pursuit ensued. 
Richmond PD and CHP assisted in the pursuit that terminated at the I-80/I-580 interchange.  Officers negotiated with the suspect for an extended period of time until officers received gun fire from the suspect. Officers on scene returned fire and the suspect was struck during the exchange. The suspect was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. No Officers were injured as a result of this incident.
All involved departments are coordinating in the investigation as this is a multi-jurisdictional case. The Emeryville Police Department is handling the criminal investigation, and all inquiries are referred to that agency.
