Suisun Man Arrested For Attempted Robbery And Assault With A Deadly Weapon

On the night of September 13th, Fairfield PD Dispatch was notified of an attempted robbery that had just occurred in the 4300 block of Central Place.  The victim, a pizza delivery driver, was returning to his vehicle after making a delivery when he was approached by a Black male carrying a handgun and demanding the victim’s money.  The victim, an 18-year-old Fairfield resident, was able to run away from the suspect and contact the police department.  Officers responded to the area but were unable to locate the suspect at that time.

During the investigation that night, Ofc. Miller, the patrol officer assigned to the Cordelia Public Service Area that evening, located latent fingerprints on the victim’s vehicle in the area that the victim believed the suspect had touched.  Those fingerprints were later sent to the Solano County Sheriff’s Office for examination.  In October, Det. Shackford, a property crimes detective, received a report that the fingerprints examined belonged to Bryce Branch, an 18-year-old Suisun resident.  The victim was re-contacted and he was able to identify Branch as the person who had tried to rob him.

Det. Shackford obtained an arrest warrant for Branch charging him with attempted robbery and assault with a deadly weapon, as well as a search warrant for his residence. Officers were alerted that a warrant had been issued for Branch and began looking for him.  On Thursday, October 26th Branch was contacted by detectives on our Special Operations Team, taken into custody, and booked into Solano County Jail.  A photo of Branch is attached to this release.
