Man Arrested For Possession And Distribution Of Child Pornography

This morning the Fairfield Police Department’s Electronic Crimes Unit wrapped up an investigation into possession of child pornography with a search of a residence in the 100 block of Bel Air Circle and the arrest of 34-year-old Jeremy Marney of Fairfield.  Several months ago Det. Pereira was alerted to the possible uploading and sharing of child pornography by Marney.  He began an investigation and determined that potential child pornography files were being uploaded from a residence on Bel Air Circle in Fairfield.  This morning a search warrant was executed, and several electronic items were seized.  Although the investigation is still ongoing, large quantities of child explicit picture files have already been located.  Jeremy Marney was booked into Solano County Jail on charges of possession and distribution of child pornography.  A photo of Marney is attached to this release.

Child pornography has become a multi-billion dollar crime industry and is one of the fastest growing crimes in our nation.  The Fairfield Police Department’s Electronic Crimes Unit is dedicated to continually searching for those within our community who are actively engaged in any aspect of child pornography.
